Our Rescue Mission

WELCOME... to our adventure!

Paws to Luv specializes in hard to place animals with either cosmetic faults, training or people issues. We like to take the hard cases and give them the time they need to trust and be loved again. We give injured animals that would be put to sleep in shelters a chance to heal. We also take in animals that have no issues and specialize in cat rescue. Each available pet will have a written evaluation on the site so you are aware of any special needs.


Paws to Luv was founded by Sheryl Koontz. Sheryl's unique approach to working with hard to place animals includeds a system that she has developed through years of research and personal experience. Sheryl has a gift for connecting with animals. They respond to her almost immediately. Sheryl will teach you what you need to know to do the same for your new family member if additional behavior modification or fear issues still need to be resolved. Animals with severe issues may not always be able to be placed. Those special pets will remain with us.

Sheryl has developed several programs for the foster animals, each designed to achieve specific results. Her approach is not one size fits all. Some of Sheryl's programs include:

All Dogs taken into our rescue will be worked in basic obedience if needed.
